DAY 1

Instead of the usual Red-eye flight, our Jetstar flight was at 12 noon and will arrive at 1625 hrs at Broome.

At Changi Airport, we can check in our luggage well in advance for some airlines.

A quick meal at Ipoh Town in Jewel Changi before boarding.

Our aircraft, preparing for boarding.

At about 1145 hrs, we were allowed to board.

We were among the first to board.

Here we come, Australia…..

We arrived at Broome Airport after a 4-hour flight.

There are only two immigration counters at the arrival. As there were not many people on this flight, the process was quite fast.

This is about the whole size of the Broome arrival and departure area.

Outside the airport, there is a rental car office and a taxi stand.

Our apartment is about 15 minutes away from the airport.

The reception area.

The interior of our apartment.

A good-sized bed.

A good-sized kitchen.

By the time we settled down, it was almost sunset.

From the apartment, we walked to Chinatown.

The famous Sun Picture Theater.

The place where we could buy fresh food.

However, most of the places were closed.

Our simple dinner for the night.
DAY 2

We started the day with a home-made breakfast consisting of bread, hard-boiled eggs, and avocado.

We came across the Courthouse Market as we were walking towards the airport.

It’s a community market available only on Saturday and Sunday of the week.

We arrived at the counter as it opened and completed the registration.

The car park for all the brands available was just next to the counter.

As usual, we conducted a walk-around and recorded all defects and dents on the phone camera and video cam. Our plan for today was to drive around Broome.

The first destination was Streeter’s Jetty.

This historic wooden jetty stretches into the calm waters of Roebuck Bay. Once bustling with pearling luggers unloading their precious cargo, today it offers a peaceful boardwalk where visitors can stroll among the mangroves, soak in the tranquil scenery, and reflect on Broome’s maritime heritage.

At high tide, the jetty seems to float above the shimmering turquoise waters – a picture-perfect spot to capture the essence of old Broome.

The next destination was Simpson’s Beach.

Overlooking the tranquil Roebuck Bay, it’s a favourite spot for peaceful walks, birdwatching, and watching Broome’s famous tides ebb and flow.

At sunset, the beach glows with golden light, creating a magical setting that captures the relaxed coastal spirit of Broome.

We then headed for the nearest Shopping center in the area.

Which is Woolworths.

Cotton On

K-Mart and others.

Gantheaume Point was next.

This is the place where rugged red cliffs meet the dazzling turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, creating one of Broome’s most iconic coastal scenes.

Famous for its ancient dinosaur footprints revealed at low tide, this dramatic headland also offers breathtaking views and a glimpse into the region’s geological and cultural history.

Next, we arrived at the most popular beach in Broome, Cable Beach.

If you are driving a 4X4, you are allowed to drive up to the beachfront.

The rest of us will enjoy the beach the usual way.

There are 2 restaurants on site. Both were packed with diners.

This beach is renowned for its stunning sunsets.

We were glad that we were here.

We headed over to Town Beach Guwarri wanting to view the stairway to the moon phenomenon.

However, tonight was not the night.
