Woke up super early at 4 am this morning to meet our transport, a minibus, for the day trip to Yulong Snow Mountain. As the sun rises, it casts a golden ray on the summit, thus giving the mountain a golden look.

The minibus stopped at a Rest House where Oxygen bottles and Winter Jackets were distributed to us. It came with the package we purchased. The shop gave us a briefing on the dos and don’ts for this trip, how to recognise High Altitude Sickness, and tried to sell us more Oxygen bottles. We bought our own bottles from the Old Town the day before at a much lower price. As Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is at a high altitude, it is highly recommended that you have at least one large Oxygen Bottle.

From the Park entrance, we were ferried to the Ropeway station. Three different ropeways go to three different peaks. Be sure to go to the correct one. 10,000 ropeway tickets are released at around 6 pm the night before. They are usually snapped up quickly. Our day tour package includes the tickets.

Time to board our Ropeway. Everyone was wrapped up thickly.

Everyone moves forward in an orderly manner.

Each car takes up to eight people.

As we climbed, this was the time we started breathing from the Oxygen bottle.

View from our car.

We arrived at the top of the Ropeway at 4506m high after a 15-minute ride.

Although it was a non-peak period, the place was still crowded with people.

These are the wooden steps that bring you up to 4680m. The highest access point allowed.

After Yulong Snow Mountain, our next destination was the Blue Moon Lake.

It was also a hot spot for taking wedding photos.

The lake is divided into a few sections, and it will take more than an hour to visit all of them.

At the center stage, a white-hairy cow can be found, where you can take a photo with it for a fee.

Finally, we managed to find a nice spot that was not blocked by others.

After lunch, we were brought to the “Impression Lijiang” show, a large-scale outdoor performance held at the Ganhaizi Blue Moon Valley Theater.

The whole show lasted for 70 minutes. There are 2 shows a day.

After the show, the minibus took us back to Lijiang Old Town, where we went in search of dinner. And we decided to try this restaurant.

The restaurants here were all well-decorated.

Our sumptuous dinner for the night.

At night, the whole Lijiang Old Town turned into a colorful city.

Where every corner was lit up.

Many of the shops use cute dogs or animals to attract customers.

Back to our Homestay to rest.
