A quick and simple breakfast to start the morning.

This morning, we will be checking out the Wind Farm at Xianxi Seaside.

Look at how big the wind turbines are.

Next was Lukang Old Street.

Although it was just Friday, Old Street was full of people.

A popular stall with so many stall helpers.

Some kind of celebration was going on at the Temple.

This is another popular stall; we wanted to eat here, but the queue was too long.

Look at the number of people here.

A healthy cooking oil was being produced on site. But the price of 800 NTD was too high for my liking.

This man was selling Goose eggs.

A popular local pancake.

Other popular snacks are on sale.

After some searching, we found our lunch venue.

A cosy shop selling Japanese food. It was a full house and we had to wait a while before we got our seats.

Our lunch came shortly after ordering.

Before heading to the main destination of the day, we came to 忘忧谷 to admire the paddy fields.

The feeling of being back to nature is great.

En route to the next destination, we found the trees here interesting.

Finally, we are here at the Gaomei Wetland Preservation Area. I have checked online that the low tide will be at around 5.30 pm today.

The sun was still strong when we arrived.

The Wetland is renowned for its diverse ecosystems, stunning sunsets, and is a haven for bird watching.

As the tide subsides, the fiddler crabs will crawl out from their tiny holes in the mud and start wandering around to look for food.

It’s very fun to see all these little crabs running around the seafloor.

The wooden platform erected allowed us to go quite far out into the wetland.

As we moved further out, the sun began to set.

The sunset here was one of the reasons for our visit.

Those adventurous enough can venture into the shallow water.

But we were wearing the wrong footwear.

Shortly, the sun was getting lower and lower, and the whole wetland began to turn golden.

I hope time can freeze at this instant.

After a full dose of nature, it’s time for some shopping at Mitsui Outlet Park.

Can you spot the big Ferry Wheel?

Back to our hotel to rest after dinner.
