As usual, we arrived at the airport early and checked-in our luggage at the self-help kiosk. At the kiosk, we printed our boarding passes and luggage tags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After which, we dropped them onto the belt to be transported to our airplane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We then visited the Cactus Garden at Terminal 1 level 3. As smoking was allowed there, the place had turned into a smoking area. We smelled cigarette smoke everywhere thus making the visit unpleasant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plane took off on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In-flight meals available on this flight were Fish with squid ink spaghetti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chili prawns with rice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And Fried rice with chicken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We arrived at Bangkok airport after a 2-hour-plus flight.  We then had to wait for the Domestic flight to Chiang Mai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were up in the air again after 1 hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Only light refreshment was served on this flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We arrived at Chiang Mai after about an hour’s flight. The airport here was much smaller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For today, we will be using Grab car as the mode of transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our hotel looked new and nicely decorated. It even had a small pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was quite a good-sized room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the evening, we walked over to the nearby Huen Muan Jai restaurant. This restaurant achieved one Michelin Star award from 2020 to 2023. There was a long queue outside and we had to take a number and wait for it to be called.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After about 30 minutes, our number was called. The internal of the restaurant gave a rustic garden feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We ordered Fried Fish and Fried Pork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Omelette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And fried Vegetables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It could be my expectations were too high after looking at the Michelin Star, the food was not as good as I expected. But the price was reasonable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It seems that deep-fried worms are one of their favorite snack there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After dinner, we walked over to Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And One Nimman Market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As it was late, we called it a day and returned to our hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our hotel stay came with breakfast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though not elaborate, but it was sufficient for the price paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was an Egg station where we could order our eggs the way we liked them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our simple breakfast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We tried to book a car from the Grab app but mistakenly booked a Truck instead. Nevertheless, we took it for the experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It seems that such type of truck is quite popular with the locals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We arrived at the airport and approached our Car Rental company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After completing the paperwork, we were brought to the rental car parking area. It was just outside the airport entrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A careful inspection of the car was conducted. All dents and scratches were recorded on the rental agreement before we signed for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our first destination for today was Jing Ja-i Market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Three Kings Monument was next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This monument commemorates the three founding fathers of Chiang Mai: King Mengrai, King Ramkhamhaeng of Sukhothai, and King Ngam Muang of Payao. These three rulers are celebrated for their alliance and collaborative efforts in establishing and fortifying the city in the late 13th century. The monument features life-sized statues of the kings, symbolizing unity and leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the Three Kings, we proceeded to Kiat O Cha Restaurant for some Thai-style chicken rice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The food was average to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After lunch, we walked over to Wat Inthakhin Sadue Muang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Wat is a historically significant Buddhist temple renowned for its spiritual and cultural importance. The name “Inthakhin” refers to the temple’s role as the original site of the city’s Pillar Shrine (Lak Mueang), which was believed to protect the city and bring prosperity. “Sadue Muang” translates to “navel of the city,” signifying its central and pivotal location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The temple features beautiful Lanna-style architecture, intricate wood carvings, and serene gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wat Inthakhin Sadue Muang is a cherished site for local worshippers and offers visitors a glimpse into Chiang Mai’s deep-rooted traditions and spiritual heritage. We then drove to Khlong Mae Kha Canel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once a bustling artery for transportation and irrigation, this canal has recently undergone a fabulous makeover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For dinner, we selected THE HOUSE by Ginger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Housed in a beautifully restored colonial-era building, the restaurant’s interior is adorned with vibrant decor, featuring a mix of antique and contemporary furnishings that create an inviting and whimsical atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The market was full of little shops selling their Handicrafts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We called it a night after this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
