We started the drive toward the causeway at around 5 am in the morning. It is important that everyone uses the bathroom first before you start your journey. You do not want to look for a toilet in the middle of the causeway. Otherwise, prepare some plastic bags in the car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The traffic congestion started at about 1 km from the Singapore custom. Looks like everyone was trying to beat the jam too. It would be much worst later in the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

After clearing the Singapore custom, we have another congestion to deal with towards the Malaysia custom. You may want to bring along some bread and drinks with you to help you and your family pass the time. Also, prepare some song playlists to listen to and sing along to during the drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After about 2 hours of traffic jams, we cleared both immigrations and headed towards Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another two hours later, we decided to take a break at Ayer Keroh Rest Station. Look out for the fork and spoon symbol on the signboard, this indicates that there are food or restaurants here. Another important symbol to look out for is the petrol station. Fill up your tank whenever you have the opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are a number of souvenir shops and local eateries here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A sports shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Kentucky Fried Chicken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And an A&W.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along the way, you will come across many Toll stations. If you are using the Touch & Go card, drive towards the gantry labeled ‘Touch n Go’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first place we visited after arriving in KL was MidValley Mega Mall<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MidValley Mega Mall has over four hundred retailers. It has an atrium and 3 shopping halls, Exhibition Centre and more. You could spend the whole day there if you want to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we were famished at that time, we decided to eat at Din Tai Fung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We ordered the prawn fried rice topped with a pork chop. Best of both worlds on a plate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Total damage to my wallet. But it’s still cheaper here due to the currency exchange rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the meal, we took a walk around the Mall for about two hours and then headed for our hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We arrived at the Swiss Garden Hotel – Bukit Bintang<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a simple hotel room with a TV console, writing desk, and mini-fridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, we headed to Furama Hotel<\/a> for our Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner. As Furama Hotel is not far from our hotel, we walked over instead of driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
