DAY 3 – Boome – Port Hedland (610km)<\/h2>\n\n\n

In the morning, we returned the rented car, took our luggage from the apartment and headed to our Motorhome pickup site.<\/p>\n\n\n

There was another group ahead of us, and we had to wait at the office.<\/p>\n\n\n

As we inspected our assigned Motorhome, we noticed a couple of major damages and highlighted them to the office staff, like this broken tail bumper.<\/p>\n\n\n

After getting the instructions on how to operate the Motorhome, we were on our way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our motorhome came with 4 berths, a dining table with chairs, a television, a fridge, air conditioning, a microwave oven, and a gas stove. It is also equipped with a toilet and a shower at the back. It has a total length of 27 feet.<\/p>\n\n\n

We refueled our motorhome as soon as we came across a rest station.<\/p>\n\n\n

Our motorhome requires Diesel only. Always ask the staff the fuel type for your rental vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cost of our first fuel fill. We would always fill it up once the fuel gauge reached the halfway mark.<\/p>\n\n\n

We arrived at our first Campervan Park at Port Hedland. This is the registration office at the Park.<\/p>\n\n\n

We booked a 30-foot hard surface lot. The lot came equipped with water and electrical supply to support the functions of our motorhome.<\/p>\n\n\n

The park was filled with various types of campervans and homes.<\/p>\n\n\n

DAY 4 – Port Hedland – Karratha (240km)<\/h2>\n\n\n

We checked out very early in the morning and headed to Port Hedland Boulevard for supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n

And arrived at the Rock of Ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shaped over millions of years by wind, waves, and tides, it stands as a reminder of the region\u2019s ancient geological history. Set against the turquoise Indian Ocean and red Pilbara earth, the Rock of Ages is a quiet scenic spot where visitors can appreciate the raw beauty and rugged character of Port Hedland\u2019s coastal landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n

We loved the idea of preparing a hearty breakfast for ourselves in the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n

Each morning before checking out, we will have to disconnect the water and electrical connections. We also cleared our toilet container before we started a new journey.<\/p>\n\n\n

The site office operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you need to check out early, just drop the key into the drop box provided. If you are arriving late after 5 p.m., they will email or text you the code to the safe so that you are able to retrieve the key to your site.<\/p>\n\n\n

It’s only much later that we realised that these are Termite Mounds. Some of them could be as tall as 2 meters. There are thousands of them along both sides of the road.<\/p>\n\n\n

Finally, we arrived at RAC Exmouth Cape Holiday Park. The mini buggies outside are for rental.<\/p>\n\n\n
