Immediately after breakfast, the driver arrived to bring us to the High-Speed Rail Station. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We arrived at Shangri-La Station after an hour-plus journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The station was only opened on November 26, 2023. Before that, those wanting to come here must take buses or a car, which requires many more hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The owner of the Homestay in Shangri-La came to fetch us at the station. All these transfers had to be arranged with the Homestay in advance. They need to be informed of your train schedules to arrive at the correct time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It has a nice little reception at the entrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The pool was under maintenance. Anyway, the present temperature was too cold for a dip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And our unit was on the 3rd Floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A family room that can sleep 3. It has heated flooring and an oxygen supply system in the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It came with both a standing shower and a bathtub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Homestay was a short walking distance from Du Ke Zong Ancient City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The streets were full of custom shops renting out Tibetan clothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Decided to have lunch in this Tibetan restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Ordered some Tibetan dishes and they were delicious. We also tried their traditional Butter tea (\u9165\u6cb9\u8336), but it was not to our liking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were recommended to check out this Supermarket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There were lots of groceries here. You can come here to get some local souvenirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, we visited Shambhala Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It was already evening when we arrived back at Du Ke Zong Ancient City. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Many stores were opened for business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The view of the temple and the Giant Prayer Wheel looks so majestic at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

All the buildings were bathed in golden light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There were even more people here at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We took turns turning the Giant Prayer Wheel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Many people were dancing in the square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

However, the shopping streets were much more deserted than the other Ancient Town we’ve been to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The restaurant we had lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The next morning, after a simple breakfast, we headed over to Prayer Flags Near Shangri-La Town \u5927\u7ecf\u5e61.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A small entrance fee of 9 RMB per person was required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This was what everyone came here for. The stunning multi-color flags flapping in the wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

There were quite many people here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A stone with Chinese wording on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Next, we headed over to Songzanlin Monastery, but it was closing. So we did not go in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Took a Didi to Xianbala Old Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Many Tibetan temples can be found around the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Traditional Tibetan Homestay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This old street was similar to the rest of the old streets we have been to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We had Yak Meat Hotpot at the center of the square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Once the sun set, everyone came out to dance in the square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It’s like a hobby to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This ended our trip to Shangri-la, and we took the High-Speed rail back to Kunming for our flight the next morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
