Melbourne is the second-largest city in Australia and is known for its lively and eclectic culture. It’s often referred to as the cultural capital of Australia, with its many museums, galleries, and music venues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melbourne is also famous for its coffee culture, with an abundance of cozy cafes serving up delicious espresso-based drinks. And let’s not forget the food – Melbourne is a foodie’s paradise with a huge variety of cuisines available, from traditional Australian dishes to international delicacies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city is home to many iconic landmarks, such as the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the Royal Botanic Gardens, and has a vibrant nightlife with plenty of bars, clubs, and live music venues to explore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All in all, Melbourne is a fun, diverse, and exciting city that has something to offer for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The locals are called Melburnians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to get there<\/span><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

There are a total of 4 airports around Melbourne: Melbourne International Airport, Avalon Airport, Essendon Airport, and Moorabbin Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melbourne’s main airport is Melbourne International Airport<\/a>. Sometimes it is called the Tullamarine Airport. Many of the flights will arrive at this airport. It’s about 20km away from the city center. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sky Bus runs a regular service from the airport to Southern Cross Railway Station. From here, there are various options for you to travel within Melbourne. I will explain more in the sections below. Get your SkyBus Melbourne Tullamarine Airport (MEL) Express Transfer Ticket<\/a> here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other options would be Charted transport, Taxis, Uber, and my personal preference, your own rental car<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avalon Airport<\/a> is mainly for domestic flights used by Jetstar and Bonza. Sky Bus service is also available here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Essendon Airport<\/a> is Melbourne’s first airport and is being used by Sharp Airlines and Link Airways to fly direct to destinations in NSW and Tasmania\u2019s Bass Islands. It is also a General Aviation and Corporate Jet airport. It is also an emergency air service provider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moorabbin Airport<\/a> is mainly used by flight training organizations, and charter, rotary, and aerial firefighting operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you at other parts of Australia, and you are on an extended long vacation, you may drive over using a Rented Car<\/a> or Campervan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
