We had breakfast at Lemon 3 again and walked around the pool area before we set off for Malacca.

This brings us to the most crucial portion regarding driving in Genting Highland – the way down.
First, the weather may be hazy like what we experienced here. You may not be able to see very far ahead. Therefore, do not rush and drive slowly with your headlights on.
As you descend the mountain, remember to use your engine brakes to help you slow down the car as your approach the steep bends, instead of using your foot brakes all the time. Both manual and automatic cars have this feature. Step it down to the lower gears whenever required.
If you feel that your brakes are getting soft and not as effective, or you detected some burning smell, slow down and stop by the side of the road immediately. Your brakes must have overheated. Let it cool down and regain its effectiveness before you carry on. Never ever rush downhill. Slow down as much as you can before the bends.
THE SAFETY OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE.

We drove for about 2 hours and arrived at Malacca.

Before we head to our hotel, the first place to visit is the Malacca Durian Heng plantation. We are here for their Black Gold and MSW durians. There are many of these plantations around Malacca but this is one that is quite easy to find.

We ordered 3 durians during this trip.

Look at these durians. They were creamy and sweet. No wonder they are called the King Of Fruits. Remember to drink a lot of water after feasting.

30 minutes from Malacca Durian Heng, we arrived at our last hotel.

The Shore Hotel & Residences.

We booked a 3 bedrooms Apartment with 2 bathrooms.

No cooking is allowed. The fridge is functional.

You are allowed to make coffee and tea.

The Master Room.

Attached Bath for the Master.

Bedroom 2.

Bedroom 3.

Common Bath.

There is a Mall next to the Apartment.

There is a Transformer display outside the Apartment.

Our Apartment is within walking distance of our next destination.

Atlantic Nyonya Restaurant @ Cafe. This is where we will be having our Peranakan dinner.

The queue started to form 1 hour before it opens. Luckily, we had already made a reservation. We drop by to make the reservation for the evening session before we head for our hotel. Do take note of their operating hours. You may expect to wait for an hour or more during peak hours.

The front counter.

Look at the Peranakan decor and setup.

Prawn crackers were first served while we waiting for our food. You must try it with the chili. It gives you both a spicy and sweet sensation.

It was a sumptuous meal. You can ask for it to be less spicy if needed.

Don’t forget to order the cendol for dessert.

After dinner, we walked to the nearby Jonker Walk.

As it was a weekday, the street-side hawkers were not available. If you want to enjoy the place more, come on a weekend. Many of the shops were opened today.

Besides shopping, you can take a trishaw ride.

There are many shops selling local produces.

Many parts of the town were lighted up.

If you are interested, you can take a river cruise.
Other popular shopping malls are the Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall and Mahkota Parade Mall.
We called it a day and walked back to our hotel to rest.
The next morning, we had our breakfast again at 7 am. After which, we packed our bags and drove home.
We arrived at the Woodlands custom at around 2 pm and drove through both customs with a breeze.
That’s it for our Self-Drive to Malaysia. See you on our next trip.
