Today is our last day in Melbourne. We planned to take it slow and easy and enjoy the trip as much as we can.
The first place we will visit today is Brighton Bathing Boxes situated on Brighton Beach.
The boxes were first built in the 1860s to protect the modesty of bathers. They are a total of 88 boxes. Owners were allowed to paint their hut the way they wanted thus resulting in today’s mass of multi-color boxes.
They are more of a display now rather than function as a bathing box. Nevertheless, it’s still worth a trip down.

It can be quite crowded with visitors at times.

Next stop, South Melbourne Market.
South Melbourne Market was first opened in 1867. It has about 150 stalls selling fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, deli, groceries, and many others. They are also cafes and restaurants.
They are only open on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 8 am to about 4 pm. Some eateries may have extended hours.
Look at all the delicious food and beautiful items you can find there:-

Bought some croissants to try. They were delicious.

And some macaroons.

Some baked oysters.

Potted plants are available here.

Of course, handicrafts.

Before we leave Melbourne for good during this trip, we visited Chadstone Shopping Center again for some last-minute shopping.
We also had a wonderful meal at a Japanese restaurant called Omi. Yummy!!!

Bye Bye Australia, till the next time……………
